La Boca Center for Sustainability is a Colorado non-profit entity located seven miles south of Ignacio, Colorado, on the New Mexico border The Center is possible because of the late Dr. Roy P. Craig owner of La Boca Ranch who knew the value of keeping prime agricultural land intact and working.  Roy established a Trust giving the La Boca Center for Sustainability an opportunity to become a viable education and research community.  Read the narrative of how it all came about. La Boca has a rich history which included daily stops of D&RGW passenger and freight trains to take on water, a post office (closed mid-1920), a store where people could purchase and trade goods, ranching, productive fruit orchards, and a school for grades 1-8.

La Boca's 180 acre site is a culmination of several years of collaboration between many projects and businesses such as organic market gardens, animal husbandry, rotational grazing, draft horse farming, small grains production/growing of grains for fuel and feed.
