Chuck Wanner, Chair
Retired now, once owned and operated a chain of small bicycle shops out of Ft. Collins, for twenty years. He was a member of the Fort Collins City Council and on the board of the city’s Downtown Development Authority. He holds an MS in Public Administration from CU.
Dick White, Vice Chair
Retired from a career as an astronomy professor to undertake a second career as a sustainability advocate. He frequently lectures or writes on climate protection and sustainability, serves on several non-profit Boards, and holds certification from Zero Emissions Research and Initiatives. He is completing a 3-year term on the La Boca Board and seeks to continue on the Board to support efforts to bring to fruition La Boca’s vision for developing, demonstrating, and teaching sustainable agriculture.
Craig Leggett, Secretary
Raised on his family’s homestead (6th generation) in the Northeast. He is a rangeland consultant and educator and former Director of Learning Sites for Holistic Management International. His background is in plant and soil science from the University of Vermont and he is currently in the graduate program for Rangeland Ecosystem Sciences at Colorado State University.
Mac Thompson, Treasure
Raised outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Graduated from Kansas Sate University with a degree in Accounting and Agricultural Economics. Worked as a CPA in San Francisco and as a business owner in Minnesota. Co-founded Heartwood co-housing community in Bayfield, CO where he lives with his wife and 3 children. Offers skills in business, finance, facilitation, and community dynamics.
Kalin Grigg, Member of the Board
Raised north of Denver CO. His hunting and fishing experiences with his father initiated a love for the outdoors. Graduated from Fort Lewis College where he has been a professor of Sociology for almost 20 years with a focus on sustainable human ecology. He is the director of the Center for Civic Engagement, has developed FLC's service learning program and a summer field school. Kalin has worked on international community building initiatives with faith-based communities and as a paramedic/firefighter.
Darrin Parmenter, Member of the Board
Born in Durango, Colorado in 1972 as a third generation 'Parmenter' from the area.. Graduated from Montana State University in 1999 with a B.S. in Horticulture. Graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York in 2003 with an M.S. in Horticulture and a minor in Soil and Crop Science. Since July of 2007, David has been the Horticulture Extension Agent for La Plata County and in February 2009 he also took over the leadership role of La Plata County Extension Office, assuming the role of County Director.
Richard E. Parry, Member of the Board
Born July 2nd 1953. He is a third-generation rancher and farmer and has live on the family ranching properties in southwest Colorado all his life. A graduate from the Center of Degree Studies in Scranton, Pennsylvania with a degree in Business Administration and Finance. He and his wife Linda operate Fox Fire Farms and produce certified organic 100% grass-fed lamb, goat, and beef along with eggs, pork. Richard is regular contributor to "The Stockman Grass Farmer" magazine and is a nationally recognized speaker and sustainable agriculture consultant.
Alan Rolston, Member of the Board
Raised on a small irrigated farm and ranch in rural southeastern Montana during the 50's and early 60's. Graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in History. Alan owned and operated a retail agri-business for twenty years before working as a community organizer in 1999 for Northern Plains Resource Council, a grass roots group located in Billings, Mt. He left the organizing business in 2005 and focuses now on living in a sustainable manner.

Article III: Board of Directors
Section 4. Selection of Directors and Qualifications
c .Election.
i) At least one week before the Annual Meeting, the Board will announce to the membership a list of nominees, including a qualifications statement for each nominee no longer than one half page, clearly stating the rationale for the nominations in terms of the skills of each nominee in relation to the needs of the Board.
ii) Nominees for appointment to the Board of Directors shall then be subject to a vote of confidence by the Members of La Boca at the ensuing Annual Meeting. A vote exceeding 1/2 of the members present shall be required for election. The Secretary shall ensure that all La Boca Members are notified of the election outcome. Any Member may request a vote tally from the Secretary.
